From Wellington: drive north on SH2. Take the left turn 5km north of Upper Hutt City at the sign
marked "To Waikanae" From Waikanae: from SH1 turn onto the Akatarawa Road at the Waikanae
traffic lights. The Akatarawa road is tarsealed all the way and is a beautiful scenic drive through native
bush. Upper Hutt to Waikanae is 37Kms

Drive down the beautiful, peaceful Akatarawa Valley linking the Upper Hutt Valley with the Kapati
Coast. Visit the numerous attractions ranging from original art and crafts, stunning gardens,
blueberries and emus to a unique wildlife attraction. Accommodation to suite a range of needs is
available to give the visitor more time to explore this wonderful valley.

to feed the emus. Treat
yourself to a blueberry ice
block, a coffee and some
blueberry fudge.The late crop
